Husky and Greyhound Dogs Available for Adoption in Los Angeles, California

Meet Dottie!

Dottie is a sweet Husky-Greyhound mix (best guess), around 3 years old. She belonged to a friend who passed away, and we’ve been caring for her during a period of transition.

She is smart, house-trained, crate-trained, and very food motivated. She is not overly vocal. When she barks, she is usually communicating a need. She enjoys long walks, daytime naps, and zoomies right before bed.

Dottie can pull on leash and has some separation anxiety, which is understandable given recent changes. She may need slow introductions and continued training around boundaries, including food and toys. She would do best with a patient, experienced owner.

She did live with a dog at some point so we believe her to be dog friendly. We do not have children, so her compatibility is unknown. She tends to feel most comfortable with men but can warm up with time and trust. Dottie has been through a lot over the past 6 months and would thrive in a calm, consistent home where she can settle and feel secure.

These medium sized, energetic dogs are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them wonderful companions for active families. Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive. Proper training and regular exercise are crucial to keep these playful and social animals happy and well adjusted.
