Tove - Hound Dog for Adoption in Tarrytown, Georgia

Tove and his brother, Tuck, were found as strays in McRae, GA. Both displayed signs of starving, being very thin, and in need of immediate help. Due to being completely full at the time, we sought out help and were able to obtain a wonderful foster home, which is where both boys have been since.

Tove is a very gentle, sweet and affectionate dog. He may be a little shy at first, but once he gets accustomed to you, which doesn't take long at all, he becomes very eager to make friends. He gets along great with other dogs and who benefit from having another dog to pal around with. We're not sure about with cats, but with such na sweet spirit, it's highly unlikely that he has a mean bone in his body.

Tove has already been fully vetted and recently received an update on all of his annual vaccinations. His recent vet examination for parasites and heartworms both came back negative, further proving that he is in excellent health. Tove may need additional house and leash training once in a new home.

The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.
