DESCRIPTION
Eddie is a 3-year-old hound mix who came to us from Duplin County Animal Control, and he's more than ready to leave shelter life behind and find a place to call home. Eddie has a moderate energy level, making him an easy companion for a variety of lifestyles. He enjoys getting out for walks, exploring his surroundings, and spending time with his people, but he's not overly demanding and settles nicely once he's had some activity. Whether it's a casual stroll or relaxing at home, Eddie is happy just being included. He already knows basic commands, giving him a great foundation, especially for a first-time dog owner. Eddie is eager to please and benefits from consistency, structure, and continued positive reinforcement as he builds confidence in a new environment. Eddie is a well-rounded dog with a sweet personality, a steady temperament, and a lot of love to give. With a little time to adjust and a family willing to continue guiding him, he's going to make a loyal and loving addition to the right home.
ABOUT: HOUND DOG BREED
The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
