This 2-year-old male beagle is an extremely fearful and sensitive dog who is struggling to feel safe and comfortable in unfamiliar environments. He tends to freeze, retreat, avoid eye contact, and keep significant distance from people when approached, showing a very high level of fear and uncertainty. He currently appears overwhelmed by new situations and would benefit from a very calm, predictable environment with slow introductions and patient, gentle handling. Building trust with him will take time, consistency, and a compassionate approach that allows him to move entirely at his own pace.

At this time, he shows little to no interest in toys and appears too fearful or shut down to engage in play activities. Around other dogs, he demonstrates a more submissive personality and appears respectful in canine interactions, which may help provide comfort and confidence over time. Overall, he is a very timid beagle who will need an understanding and experienced home committed to helping him gradually build confidence.
