Scout is a 6-month-old hound mix who made his way to us from Louisiana alongside his siblings. Like many pups who didn’t have the easiest start, Scout is still growing into his confidence — but he’s making progress every day.

Scout is currently recovering from mange, and his hair is already starting to grow back beautifully. Underneath it all, he’s a handsome boy who just needs a little time to fully glow.

He’s on the shy side and will need a patient, understanding family committed to helping him build confidence. Scout is learning about the world around him, including socialization and walking on a leash, and will do best with a family willing to go at his pace and celebrate the small wins.

Scout would thrive in a home with another outgoing, confident dog to help show him the ropes and build his confidence.
