DESCRIPTION
Hi! My name is Copper! I'm about 2 years old and weigh around 49 pounds. I've come a long way since I was rescued by Field Services. You see, some kind people saw me wandering on my own, nothing but skin and bones, and eating road kill. No one knows how long I had been scavenging for food, eating whatever I could find to survive. I was so scared and didn't trust anyone. I still get a little nervous around new people, so I hope you'll understand if it takes me a little bit to warm up to you. Some people I trust right away. It just depends! I've been working on gaining weight and making friends, and you know what? Everyone says I'm a different dog! But I swear, it's me! Copper! When I'm comfortable, I am a playful, silly, loving boy. You'll love petting my silky ears! I would probably be happiest living with another dog, so bring yours in to meet me! I am a very smart, trainable boy who learns quckly! I would likely do best in a home with teens/adults. Wondering what breed I am? You're in luck! A DNA test was done on me, and I'm a mix of 17 different breeds! Most of them are variations of coonhound, but I'm also apparently 17% Siberian Husky! Who knew?! That might explain my energry! If you're looking for a fun, energetic, loyal, smart pup, come meet me! I have so much love to give, and I'm ready to go home today!
ABOUT: HOUND DOG BREED
The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
