Lyla is a beautiful hound girl with a gentle heart who is searching for a patient, understanding family willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe and loved.

Once Lyla trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and devoted. She forms a strong bond with her caregivers and loves staying close to them, following them around the house, soaking up pets, and coming happily when called. Lyla has been an A+ houseguest. She has been seen to be housetrained, sleeps quietly through the night for more than eight hours, and has settled beautifully into a home routine. She enjoys exploring the yard, walks calmly on leash, and gets along well with the resident senior dog, though she is much more interested in spending time with people than other dogs.

While Lyla is wonderful with the people she knows and trusts. New faces can make her anxious, and she needs time, patience, and thoughtful introductions before she feels comfortable.
