Meet Frankie!
Frankie is finally getting his chance to find a family of his very own!
Frankie was one of a litter of 14 puppies who arrived at a rural Missouri shelter back in April along with four adult dogs from the same property. The puppies were only around 2–3 months old at the time, which meant much of Frankie's puppyhood was spent waiting for a home.
The good news? Frankie and his siblings had plenty of opportunities to play, socialize, and just be puppies—and it shows!
Frankie is a happy-go-lucky, friendly young dog who enjoys life and is ready for his next adventure. He's grown up around other dogs and is comfortable socializing and playing with canine friends.
Now that he's out of the shelter, it's time for Frankie to experience all the things a young dog should: walks around the neighborhood, adventures with his family, toys scattered around the house, naps on a comfy bed, and someone who thinks he's the best dog in the world.
As a young dog, Frankie is still learning and will need a family willing to continue teaching him all the important things that come with being a great family companion. In return, you'll get to watch him grow, learn, and become part of your life.
After spending most of his young life waiting, Frankie is ready to stop being one of 14 puppies and finally become someone's one and only Frankie.
Basics: He is a neutered male guessed to be around 7-8 mo old and weighs close to 27lbs. He is currently in foster in Lenexa, KS
Adoption Process:

- One of our team members will get back to you via phone.
- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee of $200 helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Day of the Dogs
Day of the Dogs is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping shelter and rescue dogs find safety, families, and second chances.
Founded in 2015 by a Kansas City native, Day of the Dogs began after Pam moved to Houston, Texas and witnessed firsthand the devastating shelter overcrowding crisis facing southern communities, where some shelters have only days to find an outcome for homeless pets.
Today, Day of the Dogs coordinates life-saving transports from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and other southern areas to rescue partners, shelters, fosters, and adopters in Northwest Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City region — communities where adoption demand can help create better outcomes for pets in need. We also focus on long stay dogs in the Greater Kansas City and surrounding rural areas to help those pets get out of kennels and into homes.
We also facilitate direct adoptions through our foster networks in both Kansas City and Northwest Indiana and partner with shelters and rescue organizations across Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana to save more lives together.
Because every open foster home creates another opportunity to save a dog, we are always looking for foster families to join our mission.
Day of the Dogs operates entirely on donations. Every transport, veterinary appointment, supply purchase, and life saved is possible because of supporters who believe every dog deserves a chance.
