Rico is an almost 2 year old, 62 lb male Hound/Rottie mixed breed.

Rico is currently located in South Texas and will be transported to his new home.

This handsome pup is Rico, a guy who was down on his luck but remained hopeful and sweet nonetheless. Rico was dumped by his former "family" when they moved, but the neighborhood stepped in to help care for him until a foster family took him in. Rico quickly made friends with the resident pooches, all big pups like him, and loves to play with them. He is sweet and cuddly with his foster family, but does want a bit of time to warm up to strangers (no surprise given his past). Rico is potty and kennel trained, and walks well on a leash. He loves to play with toys but is not destructive, and is well behaved indoors. Inside he can be a bit of a couch potato, but outdoors he loves to chase balls, bubbles and just romp around with his dog buddies. Rico does have a bum rear leg, which causes him to sometimes limp or sit in a peculiar way, but it doesn't stop him from having fun and doesn't seem to cause him pain. Rico would very much love a home with a fenced yard so he can explore and lounge outdoors, and a loving family that would he can devote himself to. He's a sweet and still young guy who deserves what all good boys want - a home of his very own. Help Rico get the loving home he deserves, ask to meet him and see if he may be the pup for you.

Faith and Hope is an established rescue group based in Texas but delivers to multiple states on the East and West Coast. All dogs and cats are rescued from the state of Texas to be transported to Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, and others, with placement in their adoptive familys homes. Our $500 adoption fee includes all core vaccinations (DHPP, rabies) spay/neuter, microchip, health certificate and transportation fees.

The Rottweiler is a powerful and loyal breed known for its robust build and confident demeanor. Originating from Germany, these dogs are renowned for their intelligence, making them excellent guard and working dogs. Rottweilers are known for their distinctive black and tan markings, along with their calm and confident temperament. With proper training and socialization, they can be affectionate companions and effective protectors, embodying the qualities of courage, strength, and loyalty.
