Meet Delaney — Quietest hound around and EXCELLENT Family Dog!

Delaney is about 2 years old, weighs around 50 lbs, and is what I would call a perfectly wonderful hound who apparently missed the memo about hound stereotypes.

She was found and taken to Animal Control, possibly after being dumped because she was considered a “failure” as a hunting dog.

Of course she was!

Delaney is far too busy being sweet, social, and absolutely in love with people to worry about hunting anything. She loves everyone she meets and would much rather be your companion than chase through the woods.

Unfortunately, her story got even worse when she ended up on the euthanasia list — simply because there weren't enough humans willing to give this sweet girl a chance.

Then... she was supposed to be adopted, but her adopter backed out the night before. No fault of Delaney's whatsoever. But it's okay, it just means that I get to enjoy her a little longer.

And honestly? Delaney is doing a pretty great job of dispelling some of those hound stereotypes:

* Quiet
* Great with other dogs
* Leash trained
* Crate trained
* House trained
* Loves people
* Would make an AMAZING family dog
* Cat curious — so proper introductions would be needed, or no cats in the home

Delaney is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how she ever ended up in Animal Control in the first place.

She didn't fail at hunting. She succeeded at being exactly what she was meant to be — someone's loving companion.

Now she just needs the right someone to realize it, too.
