Dane - Hound and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Chicago, Illinois

This handsome guy is neutered and fully healthy! He is up to date on vaccines. He is still receiving the core puppy vaccine series and will need one additional vaccine after adoption to reach full immunization. He is also microchipped!

: Housebreaking - Working on it! With a strict schedule and routine, he will catch on in no time

: Crate Training - He has not been home alone much yet, but has been left alone in his crate for an hour at a time so far. He usually cries for about 10 minutes before he settles and would benefit from working on this!

: Leash walking - So far, so good!

: Dog-friendly - Yes, he's been very friendly and playful with other dogs!

: Cat-friendly - Not sure, he hasn't met cats with us yet! Slow intro required if adopted into a home with a cat.

Kid-friendly: Unknown, but he is a teething puppy so supervision is advised when around tiny hands!


Dane is a sweet, endlessly curious puppy who loves people, other dogs, and learning new things, though his short attention span means he's easily distracted (he'll literally forget he's eating mid-meal if something more interesting catches his eye!). He's still working on his boundaries and impulse control, like any growing pup, but his goofy, playful spirit shines through in everything he does including the occasional tumble off the couch when he gets too into chasing his own tail.

OTAT requires that all dogs 6 months and under be enrolled in a positive reinforcement training program within 2 weeks of their adoption at their adopter's expense. A $150 refundable deposit will be collected at the time of adoption, and refunded upon receipt of proof of enrollment in a positive reinforcement training program.

Dane's adoption fee is $350, and this sweet boy can't wait to meet you!


This pet has not been DNA tested, we are unsure of their actual breed makeup, but these are the breeds we think they look like!
