Pawnie - Hound and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Chattanooga, Tennessee
PAWNIE
Hound, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Chattanooga, Tennessee
October 1st
female, medium, adult
DESCRIPTION
Pawnie and her siblings had a rough start in life, but at HES they have started to learn how to be confident, playful, and brave. Pawnie in particular has blossomed during her time at the shelter, and her initial shyness has given way to her true outgoing, friendly, and loving personality.
While she may still be a bit cautious with new people and skittish in unfamiliar situations, Pawnie will quickly show you that she loves attention and REALLY loves play time with other dogs, both her siblings and new friends. She would likely do best in a home with a canine companion or two (you might even consider adopting her along with her sister Nessie or brother Scoobs!), and we think she would do well with respectful school-aged children, as well. Pawnie is a curious girl who loves to explore, so an active lifestyle would be wonderful to help her thrive!
If you think you might be a good fit to give Pawnie her second chance, come meet her today!
ABOUT: HOUND DOG BREED
The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
