Whisper - Hound and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Blairstown, New Jersey

Meet Quiet Wyatt, formerly known as Whisper!

Wyatt has been with me for a little over a week now, and this sweet boy is slowly starting to come out of his shell. He has such a gentle demeanor, and you can tell there’s so much kindness in him.

He’s still learning how to open up and accept love from humans, but we’re already seeing progress. Whenever the other dogs come over for affection, Wyatt will sneak in a few kisses of his own.

He absolutely thrives around other dogs, and it’s been so sweet watching him learn from them. When he sees them seeking out affection and enjoying attention from humans, he gets a little braver himself.

One thing I especially love about Wyatt is how much he enjoys being around my two little girls. He’s curious about them and enjoys when they hand feed him his meals!

Wyatt sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate and hasn’t had a single accident in the house.

I honestly don’t think there’s a bad bone in this boy’s body. He just needs someone who will be patient with him, meet him where he is, and give him the time and space to learn that he’s safe and loved.

He may not be the kind of dog who throws himself into your arms right away, but watching him gain confidence and take those little steps toward connection is so rewarding!

The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
