Poppy - Hound Dog for Adoption in Amherst, Virginia

Meet Poppy!

Our Red Ticked Beagle with the smile of an angel.
Poppy was at a weekend foster & had a blast with the fosters Redbone named Preacher. So many videos in comments of them tearing it up in the backyard.

She's now fully vetted & spayed.
2 years old & weighs 37 pounds.

We had 2 vets look at her bowed legs. She came in as a stray but most likely she was restricted in a small crate when she was a pup causing untreated rickets, our it could have been poor nutrition as a youngster.
It's cosmetic, to fix her front legs at 2 years old would mean breaking her bones in both legs & resetting the bones. We can't see putting her through that surgery plus our vet recommend against that procedure.
But we can't see why anyone would have a problem with her front legs, she certainly doesn't mind! plus has learned to walk with her legs like this. It does not slow her down.
Let's move forward to her outstanding personality & great smile !!

She's happy as a clam!
We think she'd really appreciate another dog in her new home to keep her company & have a playmate.

Notes from her foster:
"Just brought this adorable and sweet girl home as a temporary foster.
We're just getting to know her, so far she did good with her bath, didn't love it but didn't fight it.
Did really well in the car. Walks nicely on a leash.
Her and Preacher have gotten along great.
She's just precious!"

She's available for adoption now, fully vetted, spayed & heartworm negative.
Ready to go, her adoption fee is $150.
