Meet Pogo!

Pogo is a 3-year-old, 80-pound neutered hound mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This happy-go-lucky guy loves just about everything—people, other dogs, and life in general.

He’s friendly, active, and playful, always ready for an adventure or a good romp. Like many hounds, he’s full of enthusiasm and doesn’t quite realize his size, so he may do best in a home with teens or older kids (he might accidentally knock over little ones during play).

Pogo would thrive with someone familiar with hound breeds or an active household that can match his energy and zest for life.

Pogo was originally rescued from Kern County Animal Shelter, where he was placed on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Now he’s getting a second chance—and he’s making the most of it every single day.

Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time.
