Meet Gus!

Gus is a 1-year-old Havanese mix with the cutest little heart-shaped nose and an even bigger heart.

He can be a little timid and shy when he first meets you, but once he warms up, this sweet boy is affectionate, cuddly, and completely adorable. He loves being near his people and will happily curl up in your lap—but he’s not demanding about it. If your lap isn’t available, no worries! Gus will simply find a cozy spot nearby and nap while keeping you company.

Gus is dog-friendly, enjoys walks, and is great on a leash. He rides well in the car and has been great with respectful, dog-savvy kiddos. He’s a lower-energy guy, although we’re starting to see more of his playful side as his confidence grows.

Gus arrived extremely matted. He likely had never been groom in his life. After he was groomed, he had a few episodes of some tenderness, which prompted us to take xrays. The X-rays showed doesn’t have the best of hips, but he runs and jumps and plays like a normal dog. We suspect he was just tender from the mats pulling his skin so tight. His future family needs to be committed to regular brushing and grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable.
