INTRODUCING RUMBA
Rumba, affectionately known as Violet by her foster family is an estimated 8-year-old, 14 lb Havanese with the sweetest little soul. 💜
Rumba came from a difficult past, living 8 years in a breeding operation. She is still learning that people can be kind and gentle. She has made wonderful progress in foster care and is truly a happy girl. She loves being near her people, follows her foster mom everywhere, and always likes to keep her in sight. She comes right up to her foster mom and happily hangs around all the time — she just still startles easily with human touch and may back away when being petted.
One thing that has helped Rumba tremendously is having another confident, friendly dog around to show her the ropes, so she will need a canine companion in her forever home. She also requires a secure fenced yard attached to the home. Leash training is still a work in progress.
Rumba sleeps quietly in her kennel all night with no issues, as long as she knows her person is nearby. She can howl when anxious, but once she settles in and feels safe, that decreases dramatically.
Despite her fears, Rumba’s personality is shining through more every day. She’s playful, silly, and absolutely loves playing with empty water bottles. 🥰
Rumba needs a patient, understanding home willing to continue building her confidence at her pace. Watching this brave little girl learn to trust has been incredibly rewarding, and we know the right family will help her continue to blossom.
Her vetting is complete including a fresh dental.
