Meet Doc: Big Heart, Big Personality

Hi there! I’m Doc, a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with dashing good looks and 82 pounds of puppy-sized charm! I’m here at Heartland hoping to find a forever home where I can put all my good qualities to work.

I’m a friendly, happy boy who enjoys spending time with people. I’ve been around children of all ages and I like them, so I’m ready to be part of a family. I also get along well with other dogs, which is always nice when you’re looking for a furry friend to share your adventures with. Cats are a different story—I haven’t met one yet, so I’m not sure what I’d think about having a feline roommate. Slow introductions would be the best way to find out.

I’m house trained, too, so I’ve already got some important life skills under my big fluffy belt! I have lived in the house with my humans and I do love my house time getting all the love and pets.

Now, if you know anything about Great Pyrenees, you probably know we take our job of watching over our flock pretty seriously. We were bred to guard livestock, and that instinct is an important part of who I am. If you live on a farm and are looking for a livestock guardian, I could be a great fit. I’d love having a job to do and a place where I can put my natural instincts to good use.

Of course, I’m also looking for companionship. I’d love a family who will appreciate me for the handsome, loyal boy I am and give me a place to call home.
