HOUSEHOLD REQUIREMENTS
KIDS: Scarlett would do best in a home with respectful children aged 12+
OTHER DOGS: Yes! Scarlett could happily share her home with a well-matched canine companion.
CATS: Likely yes, provided introductions are done thoughtfully and appropriately.
ENVIRONMENT: A detached home is preferred. Scarlett is expected to grow into a large dog, and her mix of Great Pyrenees and Border Collie traits means she will benefit from space to move, learn, and mature. Great Pyrenees are livestock guardian dogs known for their independence, protective instincts, and tendency to patrol and bark, while Border Collies are highly intelligent working dogs bred to herd and problem solve.
TRAINING & COMMITMENT
PUPPY TRAINING: Scarlett is a young puppy and will require the full puppy package. Her adopters should be prepared for house training, crate training, socialization, leash skills, basic manners, and all the ups and downs that come with raising a puppy.
SOCIALIZATION: Early and ongoing socialization will be essential to help Scarlett grow into a well-rounded adult dog. Positive exposure to new people, animals, environments, and experiences during puppyhood will be extremely important.
WORKING BREED NEEDS: Scarlett comes from two intelligent working breeds. Border Collies are renowned for their intelligence, trainability, and strong desire to work, while Great Pyrenees were bred to think independently and make decisions while guarding livestock. Her future family should be prepared to provide both mental enrichment and appropriate outlets for her natural instincts as she matures.
LIFELONG COMMITMENT: While Scarlett is currently a sweet, fluffy puppy, adopters should remember that puppies don't stay puppies for long. She is expected to grow into a large, active dog whose needs will evolve significantly as she matures.
ABOUT SCARLETT
Scarlett is the kind of puppy that turns heads everywhere she goes.
Beautiful, sweet, and full of potential, this young girl is ready to find a family that is excited about all the joys and responsibilities that come with raising a puppy. She has a gentle nature, a curious mind, and an adorable face that's impossible not to fall in love with.
As charming as Scarlett is today, it is important for applicants to look beyond the fluffy puppy stage and consider the adult dog she is likely to become. Her mix combines two extraordinary working breeds that were developed for very different but equally demanding jobs.
Because of this unique combination, Scarlett is looking for adopters who either have experience with working breeds or are committed to learning about their needs. She is not simply looking for a home that wants a cute puppy. She is looking for a family that understands the importance of training, enrichment, structure, and ongoing guidance as she grows.
