Meet Pippa 💕 — A Little Love Bug Who Has Been Through Far Too Much
Sometimes we meet a dog whose story just breaks your heart... and then you meet them and wonder how they can still be so sweet after everything they’ve been through. That’s our beautiful 6-month-old girl
We were contacted about this poor puppy after she was dumped in North Houston. She was dirty, scared, and completely unsure of what was happening to her. Thankfully, a kind person began feeding her, and before long, this sweet girl started following her home. ❤️
Unfortunately, her good Samaritan didn’t have a fenced yard or a safe way to contain her, and she couldn’t bring her inside because she had large, aggressive dogs of her own. So this poor baby spent her days outside, staying faithfully by the back door, just waiting and hoping someone would help her.
And thankfully, someone did.
Now she is safe and in a wonderful foster home where she is getting the love and care she should have had all along. And despite everything she has experienced, this girl is PRECIOUS. She is sweet, affectionate, and wants nothing more than to be near her people. She is a total love bug who will happily soak up every bit of attention you’re willing to give her. 🥰
But sadly, we soon discovered that her rough start was even worse than we realized. Her foster noticed she was limping, so off to the vet she went. X-rays revealed something absolutely heartbreaking — this sweet puppy had been shot. 😡
There was an entry wound and an exit wound, meaning the bullet went completely through her leg, but X-rays also showed metal fragments remaining. For now, she is being treated with medication, and we’ll continue to monitor her closely to determine whether surgery will ultimately be necessary.
We will never understand how anyone could hurt such a beautiful, innocent baby.
But she doesn't seem to hold it against the world. She just keeps being sweet. She keeps trusting. She keeps wanting to be loved. And that is what makes this girl so incredibly special. ❤️
She has already been through more in her first six months of life than any puppy should ever have to endure. Now she deserves the rest of her life to be filled with soft beds, safe places, belly rubs, loving people, and absolutely NO more bad days.
This girl is safe now. She is loved. And we are going to make sure she knows just how much she matters. 💗
Stay tuned for more updates on this precious girl as she continues to heal!
