Attention, Earthlings: NASA would like to report that a brand-new star has been discovered... and unlike the others, this one has four paws, floppy ears, and an uncanny ability to brighten absolutely everything around her. Meet Stella! Current observations indicate she is approximately 98% adorable, 2% mystery, and steadily increasing in confidence every single day. She started off as the quiet little galaxy wallflower, taking everything in before making her move. But don't let that fool youshe's already beginning to reveal her playful side and is becoming more confident and assertive as she settles in. At this rate, we fully expect her to become the brightest star in someone's home.

Stella is an 8-week-old female Great Pyrenees mix who joined Pyr Paws & Fluffy Tails when she found herself needing a safe place to land. Thankfully, our rescue has become pretty good at catching falling stars. This girl is basically the astronomical equivalent of a shooting starsmall, adorable, impossible not to smile at, and guaranteed to leave a lasting impression wherever she lands. Just don't expect NASA to take credit for discovering her. We're pretty sure she was always destined to steal hearts instead of scientific headlines.
When it comes to making friends across the galaxy, Stella prefers quality over speed. She isn't the type to come barreling into the dog park yelling, "WHO WANTS TO BE MY BEST FRIEND?!" Instead, she's more of a tiny social scientist. She hangs back for a moment, observes the situation, gathers the data, and then decides whether the vibe is right. She absolutely loves playing with her 85-pound foster sister, proving that she either has no concept of size or simply believes confidence outweighs physics. She also spent hours wrestling and playing with a four-month-old puppy, so she's more than happy to recruit playmates of all shapes and sizes. One thing that's especially impressive is how well she reads the room. She picks up on cues from the older dogs, knowing when it's time to wrestle, when it's time to back off, and when that toy actually belongs to someone else. Honestly, for someone who's only been on Earth for eight weeks, she's surprisingly good at reading the local customs. Cats remain one of the few mysteries left in Stella's universe, so we can't report on that planetary encounter just yet. As for tiny humans, Stella has met kids and has been her sweet, gentle self. She may need a little time to warm up, but we're pretty confident she'll decide they're just smaller humans with equally acceptable cuddle potential. Speaking of humans, Stella is a fan. She happily accepts attention from new people, doesn't mind being scooped up for a cuddle, and seems perfectly content soaking up affection. She's not one of those puppies who launches herself into every stranger's lap like she's trying to board a departing spaceship. She's much more composed than that. Think, "Oh, hello. Yes, you may admire me. I suppose a cuddle or two would be acceptable."
If we had to rate Stella's energy on a cosmic scale, she'd land somewhere around a 6 out of 10. She has plenty of puppy moments where she'll zoom, wrestle, and entertain herself, but she's equally happy to settle down and simply exist near her favorite humans. She's basically the perfect balance between "Let's play!" and "Let's binge-watch absolutely nothing together." Car rides? Stella has apparently decided they're just another way to observe Planet Earth. She happily rides in the passenger seat, either sitting politely or lying down like the distinguished little traveler she is. Leashes, however... well... we're still in negotiations. Stella understands that a leash exists. She simply hasn't quite accepted that it isn't secretly an interactive chew toy that humans carry around for her entertainment. As for her ideal lifestyle? Stella is wonderfully adaptable. She enjoys riding around the neighborhood in a stroller like the tiny celebrity she clearly believes herself to be, happily taking in the sights as if she's waving to adoring fans. At the same time, she's perfectly content hanging out at home, playing with her dog friends, and keeping one eye on her people at all times. Adventure is great... as long as her favorite humans are part of the expedition. Overall, Stella is a wonderfully chill little pup whose personality grows brighter every day. She's becoming more playful, more confident, and just a little more opinionatedwhich she has absolutely no problem telling you about. If she doesn't like something... you'll know. If she wants something... you'll definitely know. The only challenge is deciphering exactly what Her Royal Starship is attempting to communicate at any given moment. When she's not busy supervising her humans, Stella enjoys creating her own water park by climbing into the outdoor water bowl with both front paws and enthusiastically splashing like she's discovered an alien ocean. She also believes showers are a group activity and sees absolutely no reason why you should bathe alone. Privacy? Never heard of her. She does an excellent job entertaining herself with her ever-growing toy collection and generally stays out of mischief when adequately supplied with fluffy objects to toss around. Fetch, however, has not made it onto her list of favorite Earth activities. Why chase the toy when you could simply admire it... or chew on it... or wait for the humans to retrieve it instead? Work smarter, not harder.
As Stella continues her mission to explore Planet Earth, we think her forever home should come with a securely fenced yard. Right now, she could probably manage with regular leash walks, but she's still just a tiny star who's finding her confidence. As she grows into her Great Pyrenees genes (translation: bigger, fluffier, and equipped with stronger opinions), having a safe place to stretch her legs and patrol her little corner of the galaxy will make everyone happier. An apartment? Well... let's just say Stella has discovered she possesses a very effective communication system. When she wants something, she's not afraid to file a formal complaint. Whether it's an empty water bowl, breakfast running a few minutes behind schedule, or the absolutely unacceptable injustice of waiting to be released from her kennel, she'll happily let management know. Your neighbors may eventually become invested in her daily announcements, or file a formal complaint. Potty training is coming along nicely, too. She's doing a great job, but she'll need a family willing to keep up with frequent potty breaks and pay attention to her signals. She's still running the Puppy Edition software, and there are a few updates left before the system is fully installed.
Now, before you start calculating launch coordinates to Mustang, there's one tiny mission you'll need to complete first.
Head over to https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app and fill out an adoption application. The nice humans at Pyr Paws & Fluffy Tails Rescue will beam your application directly to Stella's foster family, who will choose the home they think is the very best fit for this tiny superstar. (Contrary to Stella's belief, screaming the loudest does not automatically make you first in line.)
If you're selected, you'll need to travel to Mustang, Oklahoma, to pick up your newest family member. Unfortunately, NASA hasn't approved puppy teleportation yet, Stella refuses to fly herself, and while she's adorable enough to deserve her own space capsule, that's still a few budget meetings away.
