Meet our sweet Mama, Cordelia (DOB September 2024). This sweet girl came to us after living her whole life rurally, born outside in a pack of dogs left to fend for themselves. They had a kind community of humans supporting them, feeding them, and trying to get them all help as fast as possible. Cordelia is very sweet but was very thin and undersocialized when she came in. She was covered in ticks, losing hair in clumps, and just overall in poor shape. She gave us the biggest surprise when she gave birth to 6 puppies here on property. She was so emaciated that she showed no signs of being pregnant, her poor body was simply trying to survive. Despite being so young herself and still nervous, she was the best Mama to her 6 babies. Now, she is spayed, finally healthy and filling out, and ready to find her forever place in the world! Cordelia is a big big girl who loves other dogs and loves to be outside playing. She will need a patient home that understands she will need time to adjust to indoor living, and patience goes a long way with this sweet Mama. Right now, Cordelia is not your big adventure dog or your big out on the town dog, she's the perfect dog for someone who has a dog (or two, or three!) who needs a playmate, and someone who is ready to earn her trust and help her continue to grow! Cordelia is very gentle and sweet, but a loud home full of the hustle and bustle of young kiddos may be a lot for her, but older kids would be just fine!
