Chickie (aka "Chicken") is a sweet, loyal Great Pyrenees mix who is looking for a calm home after her loving home of 7+ years has gotten overwhelming for her now that there are young children. We want to find that perfect home for her, because she deserves it.
Chickie was rescued in 2019 as a puppy, and has been part of her family ever since. She's affectionate, funny, and when she's in her element, she's an absolute joy.
What makes her shine: Chickie is warm and loving with her people. She's been raised with love and care, is up to date on vet care, and has been on a low-dose Prozac regimen that helps her stay regulated day-to-day. She does best when she has space to run and burn energy — a yard or active owner would be a dream for her.
What she needs in a home:
No other dogs. Chickie can be selective with dogs, particularly around resources — think food, toys, space.
No young children. She can be protective of her personal space and does best in a calm, lower-stimulation environment.
An active owner with space. She needs to get her energy out. A big yard, regular walks or runs, room to roam — she'll thrive.
Someone patient and consistent. She does well with routine and a confident, calm owner.
The bottom line: Chickie isn't a complicated dog — she's just a dog with specific needs, and we haven't been the right fit for a while now. She gave her family years of love and they want her to finish out her life happy, settled, and in a home where she's set up to succeed.
