Meet Sugar
We weren't sure if this girl would ever be ready for adoption,. She came in last November due to whelp pups at any time. She was a livestock guardian dog and her family loved her, so no negative comments. She lived on their farm with the male dog and took care of the livestock, especially their goats. They never intended for her to have to find another home, but one of the family members became ill.
When she came in she was very fearful and very intimidating to my volunteers. We took it slow with her and I figured she would just end up living her life with me. But with time she has become the favorite and is making great progress in preparing for a new home.
Sugar is a 2 yrs old purebred Great Pyrenees. She grew up around all types of farm animals and although would no doubt adjust to house life I think would love to find a family that has some farm animals and allows her to go to the barn when they are doing chores. She needs a fenced yard (no exceptions). This girl loves to lay out in the yard and just watch the world go by. She is very intelligent and just needs a family to give her time to settle in and you will see her personality come out.
Her adoption fee is $400. All of her vetcare is current.
