“Meet Panda — Playful, Silly, Gentle Giant
Panda is a beautiful female Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix with the body of a Great Pyrenees and that unmistakably sweet Saint Bernard face. She is a big, strong girl with an even bigger personality — playful, affectionate, good-natured, and completely devoted to her people.
Panda is truly a family-oriented dog. She doesn’t particularly care what you’re doing or where you’re going — she just wants to be there with you. She loves attention and companionship and is happiest when she’s included in everyday family life.
One of Panda’s favorite things is car rides, and she loves playing fetch, but her absolute favorite game is chase. She’ll deliberately get you to chase her just to keep the fun — and your attention — going a little longer. Panda is very much a “Come on... just five more minutes!” kind of girl.
She’s smart, too! Panda knows several basic commands, including sit, lay down, paw, roll over, and stop. She’s very treat-motivated, although once that treat is gone, she’s usually ready to get right back to playing! Because she’s such an enthusiastic girl, she can be very excitable when something new is happening and may need a little time to settle down.
Despite her size, Panda is a friendly, social girl. We’ve had unfamiliar people in the yard for maintenance and service work, and after she’s had an opportunity to sniff them and decide they’re okay, she generally wants to follow them around hoping for some extra love and attention.
Panda enjoys other dogs, both big and small, and generally doesn’t take long to warm up. She has grown up around a medium-sized dog, a small dog, a cat, and even a bunny.
She has also been raised around children, from newborns through age 13, and has done wonderfully with them.
Panda spent most of her first year living indoors and is house-trained. Since then, she’s enjoyed a combination of indoor and outdoor life with plenty of land and room to roam.
And here’s one of our favorite things about her: Panda still thinks she’s a tiny baby. She was the runt of her litter and grew up snuggled underneath her littermates. Even now, she’ll squeeze that enormous body into small, cozy spaces because it makes her feel safe and secure. Apparently nobody has had the heart to tell her she’s enormous.
Her favorite treats are beef- or lamb-flavored bones. She does not do well with chicken-flavored dog food, so her new family will need to keep that in mind.
Panda’s Perfect Home
Panda needs a loving, family-oriented home with people who genuinely want her companionship and have time to spend with her. She would benefit from someone willing to continue her training, particularly helping her learn to manage all that excitement when she’s happy and ready to play.
We would especially love to see her in a home with room to run and play, and we think she’d enjoy having other animal friends.
Panda isn’t looking for a place where she’ll simply exist in the background. She wants to belong. She wants someone to play chase with her, take her for rides, give her those extra five minutes, and let this enormous baby believe she still fits in your lap.
She’s goofy. She’s strong. She’s affectionate. She’s playful.
And underneath all that fur is one very sweet girl with a whole lot of love to give.
That’s our big gentle giant, Panda.
She is currently located in Charlotte owners are moving and can’t take her .. anyone can foster please contact Charlie Fisher or Dm me See less
