DESCRIPTION

Sierra is a spirited and sweet Great Pyrenees who brings joy, energy, and gentle affection to every interaction. She is crate trained and doing very well on walks, learning to walk on leash. She knows several commands including “kennel,” “come,” “wait,” and her name, and she picks up new things quickly. She responds beautifully to positive feedback and genuinely wants to please. Sierra's activity style is perfectly balanced: she loves a good 20–30 minutes of medium to gentle play, followed by a well-earned 60+ minutes of rest. She adores running the yard with her humans, chasing toys, and playing with other dogs. Her favorite toy is a stuffed duck she loves to carry around — and tease her sister with. Cuddles, scratches, and quality human time are also high on her list, and her favorite treat is Cheerios. Sierra does well with other dogs and is comfortable meeting new people inside the home. She is still adjusting to greetings outside, so it's best to let her approach on her own terms — and she will! She loves the attention, but will back away if pursued. Patience pays off with Sierra. Sierra LOVES being outside but also thoroughly enjoys indoor time with her canine and human companions. Her ideal home would include a 5-foot securely fenced yard, other dogs to pal around with, and perhaps a child of her own to be a devoted buddy to. Sierra is caring, gentle, playful, and smart — rowdy in the best possible way — and she is ready to be someone's very special companion.

Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
