Does your family have a big yard, a sense of humor, and maybe a creek nearby, because Hugo would like to submit his application to join you! This five-month-old Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix is 45 pounds of clumsy, curious, wide-eyed puppy energy, and he is somehow getting goofier by the day. He is the kind of puppy who makes everyone smile without even trying. Hugo is already doing remarkably well for a baby his size. He is crate trained without a peep, has had zero accidents in the house, and rides quietly in his crate during car trips. He walks reasonably well on a leash, aside from occasionally deciding it looks like a fun thing to carry in his mouth. He is learning his name and has a very solid understanding of the word no, which says a lot about how smart this boy is. Hugo is obsessed with water and will make a beeline for any creek or puddle he can find. He loves squeaky toys, romping with his dog housemates, and napping on his back with all four gigantic paws straight up in the air, which is as hilarious as it sounds. He is also in full teething mode, so anything left at puppy level is fair game, and his future family will want to plan accordingly. He is a total blank slate, soaking up everything around him and watching his housemates navigate the world one goofy step at a time. Hugo would do best in a home with other friendly dogs to learn from, plenty of space to run, and a patient family ready to invest in training this big, bright, loveable goofball into something truly spectacular.
