Meet Nelson - Your Gentle Giant Adventure Buddy
Nelson is a one-year-old Great Dane who weighs 127 pounds, and if you're looking for a dog with a big personality to match his big paws, you've found him! This handsome boy is full of life, loves to play, and is always ready for his next adventure.
Whether he's romping through the play yard, stretching those long legs on a walk, or tossing around his favorite toys, Nelson is happiest when he has room to run and people to share the fun with. He's an energetic young dog who will thrive with an active family committed to giving him plenty of exercise, enrichment, and space to play.
Despite his impressive size, Nelson has an incredibly sweet and gentle nature. He takes treats softly, is housebroken, and has lived successfully in a home for the past year. Sadly, through no fault of his own, changing life circumstances meant his family could no longer keep him, and he's now searching for the forever home he truly deserves.
Nelson loves people and is especially wonderful with children. He can be a little shy when meeting some men at first, but with a little patience and kindness, his affectionate personality quickly begins to shine.
When it comes to other dogs, Nelson likes to choose his own friends. Because of this, a meet and greet will be required with any future canine siblings to make sure everyone is a good match.
If you've been dreaming of sharing your life with a playful, loving giant who will happily join you for adventures by day and relax beside you at night, Nelson may be exactly the companion you've been waiting for. He's ready to leave his past behind and begin the next chapter of his life with a family who will love him forever.

Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog. Homes with older children are often a good fit, depending on temperament. To learn more about NMDR and our adoption process, please visit our website.
