DESCRIPTION
Harvey is a 7 year old, 80 lb, male golden-doodle. He was pick of the litter (almost double in size of other dogs because he would take their food). His love of food and guarding has followed him all his life. He is very food motivated so has been easy to train to sit, stay, lay down, mat, smile, wait to enter a room, dont jump, bark only when required, etc. When his water bowl gets empty, Harvey will stare at you until he gets your attention, look at the faucet and then look at his empty bowl. When visitors come, Harvey always brings them presents (shoes, stuffed animals, toys) and gives them a big smile (looks a little scary if you dont know its a smile). The only thing that he has not been able to be trained is his aggression toward small children and other dogs. He loves his own children, but if a small child gets too close when he is eating, he is very unpredictable. He gets along with some dogs but wants to show his dominance and will bite if his butt gets sniffed for too long. He adores the children in the home but cannot be trusted with other children, especially the smallest of a group. He does excellent on leash and is used to lots of exercise. He can easily run 10-15 miles on the trails and does great on/off leash. He loves running, but doesnt do great mountain biking as he gets sores on his feet when he goes to fast. He leaves chickens alone and seems indifferent to cats but hasnt been around them much. An ideal home would not have young children or other dogs.
