Beautiful Pearl is a 3 year old Goldendoodle who belonged to an elderly person who was unable to care for her and planned to take her to a shelter. She was emaciated and flea infested when she was rescued and her rescue angels lovingly cared for her until she came to Dogwood.
Pearl is very underweight at 50 pounds, but does have a naturally lean, leggy poodle build and 5-10 pounds more should put her at a healthy weight. She's a sweet girl who needs some further training, but she is house trained, knows how to use a dog door and does great in the car and loves it.
Pearl has both the Golden Retriever sociability and the intense loyalty of the Poodle. Her social skills with dogs needs work (she doesn't seem to know how to play with dogs), but she met the Dogwood pack politely. We're told Pearl previously lived peacefully with a cat and loves cats, and she did greet one nicely on arrival. She will need regular brushing and probably occasional clipping (she's clipped now), but her coat seems more wash and wear than many Doodles. Pearl will be available after spay and vetting.
The Goldendoodle is a popular mixed breed dog that combines the intelligence and hypoallergenic coat of a Poodle with the friendly and affectionate nature of a Golden Retriever. Known for their playful and outgoing personalities, Goldendoodles are great family pets and excel in various roles such as therapy and service work. With their curly or wavy coat that comes in various colors, these versatile and loving dogs require regular grooming to keep their coat healthy and tangle-free.
