Say hello to Lucy, a beautiful two-year-old Golden Retriever with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! Lucy is everything people adore about Goldens: friendly, affectionate, playful and endlessly loyal. She greets every new person like a long-lost friend and is happiest when she’s right in the middle of the action with her favourite humans.
Lucy is the kind of dog who will quickly become your best friend. Throw a ball and you’ll have a friend for life! Fetch is one of her very favourite games, and she’ll happily play for as long as you’re willing to throw. And if you’re looking for a water-loving companion, Lucy is your girl. She absolutely loves the water, whether it’s a lake, a pond or a splash at the beach, and she would be thrilled to join you on cottage weekends, hikes and all your summer and winter adventures.

Lucy’s Personality
Lucy is a happy, affectionate and loving girl who would thrive with a family that wants a dog to truly be part of their lives. She isn’t a dog who wants to be left on the sidelines; she wants to be included in walks, games, road trips and lazy evenings on the couch. Whether it’s a game of fetch in the yard, a long walk through the neighbourhood, an adventure outdoors or simply spending quiet time together, Lucy is ready to be by your side.
Because she loves people so much, Lucy does best with a family that has the time and energy to keep her active, engaged and included. In return, she’ll give you endless loyalty, plenty of laughs and a lifetime of Golden Retriever love.
Lucy’s Ideal Home
Lucy is looking for a loving forever home where she can be cherished as part of the family. To help set her up for success, we have a few requirements and preferences:
• Location (required): Homes must be in Ontario, within 3 hours of Toronto.
• Fenced yard (preferred): Preference will be given to families with a securely fenced yard where Lucy can safely run and play fetch.
• Children (preferred): Preference will be given to families with children over the age of 8.
• Another Golden (bonus!): Lucy is great with other dogs, so a home with another Golden Retriever would be a wonderful bonus.
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program
Lucy is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which gives you and Lucy the chance to get to know each other before making it official. Once your application is approved, Lucy will come to stay with you for a 2 to 3 week trial in your home. This trial period lets you see how she settles into your daily routine, how she gets along with your family and any other pets, and whether she’s the right fit for your lifestyle.
Our team will be available to support you throughout the trial and answer any questions along the way. At the end of the 2 to 3 weeks, if everyone agrees it’s a perfect match, we’ll finalize the adoption and Lucy will officially be home!
