Chomp - Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees Dog for Adoption in Tishomingo, Oklahoma

Chomp is ready to travel to a community that will truly cherish him as a family member. He is currently in Oklahoma at our rescue. Because we want his transition to be as smooth as possible, we arrange direct-to-adopter transport to specific cities (listed below!).

Adoptions are finalized in advance so that Chomp can hop off the transport and right into your waiting arms. We stand by our pups for life. In the rare event it isn't a perfect match, Chomp is never without a safety net; he will simply return to our care in Oklahoma on the next available transport until his perfect home is found.

Chomp is an absolute dream of a boy who brings together the gentle, loyal nature of a Great Pyrenees with the fun-loving, eager-to-please spirit of a Golden Retriever! At 77 pounds, he is a big, handsome goofy guy with a huge heart and a wonderful personality.

Personality & Highlights:
Family & Kid Approved: Chomp loves people and is fantastic with kids of all ages! His previous family had children ranging from 5 to 12 years old (including a child with mild autism), and Chomp was consistently gentle, patient, and loving with them.
Goofy & Playful: He has the most hilarious way of showing his excitement—a goofy little hop mixed with happy panting that will instantly brighten your day!
Dog & Cat Friendly: Chomp is a total "follower" in the best way; he reads dog social cues effortlessly and quickly learns who leads the pack. He gets along great with both male and female dogs. He is also cat-approved! When a stray kitten came into his previous home, Chomp welcomed him with open arms and never showed a single ounce of aggression.
Water Baby: Chomp loves lounging in a pool to cool off! While he’s not a fan of being sprayed directly with a hose, he happily relaxes in water whenever he gets the chance.
House & Crate Trained: He is both house-trained and crate-trained with an excellent record—no accidents in the house or in his kennel!

Special Care Notes:
Grooming: Prior to arriving at our rescue, Chomp had never been professionally groomed, and the experience makes him very nervous. He will need a patient, gentle owner (and groomer) who can use low-stress, positive reinforcement techniques to help him build confidence and feel safe during bath and brush time.

The adoption includes:

Fully Vetted: Chomp is already neutered and up-to-date on all his essential vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella).

Prevention: He has been dewormed and is kept on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Tested negative for heartworm.

Safety First: To ensure he is in tip-top shape for his new family, he will be microchipped and receive a fresh fecal exam and a certified Health Certificate. All performed within 10 days of his transport date.

Adoption Details
Chomp's adoption fee is 1,200. This fee is all-inclusive, covering his neuter, all veterinary care listed above, and his seat on a professional transport service dedicated to getting him safely to your area.
