Meet KHILO A Blue-Eyed Boy Looking for the Right Forever Home

If you've been dreaming of a strikingly handsome best friend, we'd love for you to meet Khilo! This one-year-old Golden Retriever/Husky mix is a big youngster with unforgettable ice-blue eyes that stop people in their tracks.

At approximately 75 pounds, Khilo has grown into a large dog—larger than his original family anticipated when they brought home an adorable puppy. Because of his size, they're making the difficult and loving decision to find him a home that can better meet his needs.

One of Khilo's most unique qualities is that he's already trained to use both a wee-wee pad indoors and to relieve himself outside on walks. That's a rare bonus for a dog his size and offers extra flexibility for his future family.

Khilo is current on his rabies vaccination and will need to be neutered. He is a sweet young dog, but he hasn't had many opportunities to socialize, so he can be shy and cautious when meeting new people. Rather than forcing new situations, Kilo does best when he's allowed to get to know people at his own pace.

Because of this, Khilo is not housed at the shelter. He is a courtesy posting, and we are happy to arrange meet-and-greets by appointment only for approved, interested adopters.

Khilo is looking for a very special family—one with experience handling large-breed dogs and an understanding that trust takes time. At just one year old, he has already experienced more change than any young dog should. The home he finds next will become his third home in his first year of life, and he deserves a family committed to making it his last.
