Cooper is a beautiful 61⁄2-year-old Golden Retriever whose story is becoming all too common.
When the world slowed down during COVID, Cooper's family decided they had time for a puppy. He became part of their lives when everyone was home, but as life returned to normal, Cooper slowly became an afterthought.
Eventually, he was brought to us because his family no longer had time for him.
Imagine spending your whole life loving your family, only to discover that love wasn't enough to keep your place in their home.
Despite this, Cooper remains one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He greets people with kind eyes and a gentle heart, still hopeful that his forever family is out there. He's a low-energy boy who enjoys the simple things in life--a cozy bed, a leisurely stroll, and someone to spend time with.
Years of poor-quality food and neglect have left his coat dull and added a few extra pounds, but with proper nutrition, exercise, and love, Cooper is already on his way to becoming the healthy, handsome Golden he was meant to be.This animal is available at South Coast Humane Society, Brookings, Oregon. www.mysouthcoasthumane.org
