Max - Golden Retriever Dog for Adoption in Blacksburg, Virginia

Meet Max the Golden Retriever! This boy is a happy-go-lucky young pup who, at only 1 1/2, is very much still full of energy. He is very smart and will do a few tricks and does fabulous in a crate when needed.
Max loves to run and play with his toys (while they last).
He is looking for an active family who can work to stimulate and challenge him to release all of his energy. Max is dog friendly although a little hesitant at first of all new things, so continued socialization is a must to get him to his full potential.

Max will need a family who commits to his high-energy. The benefits will be worth it, but without training and release of energy he cannot be his best self. Max was surrendered because a family did not have the time to engage him appropriately and he spent most of the day in a crate. He did live with four children, but his energy level is not good for small children who could be knocked down.

Max will complete all required vet care this week (last week of October) including neuter. He has been started on preventatives and microchipped.
