DESCRIPTION
Bear (“Beary”) – 1.5 year old Golden Retriever
Bear, also known as Beary, is a handsome Field Golden Retriever with a playful spirit and a very affectionate personality. At around a year to a year and a half old, he's past the tiny puppy stage but still very much young, fun, and full of energy.
Bear is incredibly loving and goofy. He enjoys carrying toys around, chewing on bones, and relaxing close to his people. He has a moderate energy level and loves to run and play, but he also settles in well for downtime and cuddles.
He is both crate trained and housetrained, and overall has solid manners. Like many young dogs, he may get into cardboard or trash occasionally if left unattended, but this is manageable with structure and supervision. He knows “roll over” and enjoys engaging with people.
Bear has lived successfully with both dogs and cats and has done well with each. He is currently bonded with another dog in the home. He has had limited exposure to children but has done well in those interactions.
He is not known to have anxiety or any history of aggression. He may bark when excited or during play, just as part of his expressive personality.
Bear is being surrendered due to significant life changes in his home, including a new baby and the loss of a family member who had been helping care for him. His family cares deeply about him and wants to find a home that can give him the time and attention he deserves.
He would do best in a home ready for a young, social, affectionate dog who will thrive with consistency, play, and companionship.
Bear will need to get up to date on vaccines and neutered before he can be adopted. If you are interested in bringing him home, you can apply as a foster - foster's get the first opportunity to adopt when a dog becomes available.
