DESCRIPTION
Theo is a loving, goofy, and social guy who enjoys being part of the action! He loves staying active and exploring the outdoors, and he does well with other dogs. Theo is also gentle and patient with children, making him a fun and affectionate companion for an active family.
Theo does best when given time to build trust with new people, especially when it comes to body handling. He has made great progress with resource guarding, but he will need a patient home that understands his boundaries around food and continues to help him feel safe and secure.
Theo has previously lived with a cat. Once he learned the cat's boundaries, he was playful and submissive with his feline housemate. He may still be tempted to chase a cat at times, so any future cat introductions should be slow, supervised, and respectful of both animals' boundaries.
With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, Theo has so much potential to be a wonderful companion!
ABOUT: GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTER DOG BREED
The German Shorthaired Pointer is a versatile and intelligent sporting dog breed known for its athleticism and hunting abilities. With a striking coat that is typically liver and white, these dogs are energetic, loyal, and make excellent companions for active families. They excel in various canine sports, such as agility and field trials, and are eager to please their owners. Their keen sense of smell and natural hunting instincts make them ideal for hunting birds and small game. Socialization and mental stimulation are essential for the well being of this breed.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
