This handsome, athletic Shepherd mix has a wonderfully quirky personality and a heart full of loyalty. He loves following his trusted person, being included in daily life and heading outdoors for his next adventure. Whether it’s a neighbourhood walk, a nature hike or a playful romp with canine friends, King is always ready to go. He could happily walk all day if you let him!

King isn’t simply looking for a home. He’s searching for his people, a dependable routine and perhaps even a furry best friend.

Life with King

King is a morning dog through and through. He wakes up ready for his walk and thrives when his days include exercise, structure and familiar routines. Once he bonds with you, he likes to stay close, seek direction when he feels unsure and may even sit right on your feet.

King can be independent and will respectfully step away when he needs space, but he’ll return when he’s ready for affection. This balance could make him a wonderful companion for someone who works from home.

Like many rescue dogs, King needs time to adjust to unfamiliar places and experiences. He may pace when anxious, and loud trucks can startle him. Thankfully, King knows how to self-regulate and will often retreat to his crate—his favourite safe and comfortable place to relax.

King has lived in two very different foster homes. His first was a quiet, loving household that nurtured him, sponsored his foundational training and helped him develop important social skills. Thanks to that incredible start, King now lives in a multi-dog foster home, where he is thriving and fitting beautifully into the pack.

His journey has shown us just how adaptable he can be. With consistency, structure and positive guidance, King continues to grow more confident every day.

What Makes King Special

King is deeply loyal, responsive to direction and comforted by human guidance when situations feel uncertain. He wants someone he can trust—someone who will show him that he is safe, loved and finally home.

Rescue life has given King the opportunity to make incredible progress. Now, after waiting well over a year, he deserves the stability and belonging of a family of his own.

King and His Dog Friends

King does very well with other dogs and currently lives successfully in a multi-dog foster home. His favourite play style is in small groups of up to four friendly dogs, where he can chase, play-bow and have fun without becoming overwhelmed.

Busy dog parks and high-traffic daycare environments would not be the right fit for King. He is happiest playing with familiar friends in a backyard or another controlled, securely fenced space. When he feels uncertain or uncomfortable, he politely retreats and gives himself space.

King can get along with many different dogs and personalities, but introductions should always be slow, guided and completed on leash. Our rescue team will happily support this process to help everyone begin on the right paw.

King could thrive as the only dog in his home, but we also believe he would love having a compatible furry sibling. He has not yet been tested with cats.

King has spent long enough waiting for his forever routine. Now he needs someone ready to show him that this time, he is home for good.

The Home King Needs

King will flourish with someone who appreciates activity, routine, and daily exercise 2-3 times a day.

We're looking for someone who can offer:

Daily exercise and adventure
Consistency and routine
Positive, kind leadership with clear boundaries
Ongoing training and enrichment
Patience while he adjust to your home, knowing the incredible companion we know he is.

King is not the ideal match for a first-time dog owner—but for the right person, he has all the ingredients to become an extraordinary lifelong companion.

Could You Be the One to Change King’s Story?

If you've been searching for a loyal adventure buddy, a best friend, and a dog who is extremely loyal - KING IS WAITING FOR YOU!
