SCAR - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Santa Cruz, California

SCAR

German Shepherd Dog
🇺🇸
Santa Cruz, California
August 21st
male, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

Meet Scar, the extra large German Shepherd. Scar came to the Shelter after his previous guardian was unable to continue caring for him. Scar is a bit overweight and would thrive with a guardian who will provide regular exercise and work with their vet to get him shedding some pounds in an appropriate manner. Scar previously lived with a chihuahua and did well. He has been around children of varying ages (babies to 17 years old). Balls are his favorite and he loves to play fetch. He is still working on his stamina so adopters should be mindful of intense exercise while he is carrying extra weight. Scar knows “sit”, “stay” and “lay down”. Although a little nervous at first, Scar warms up and shows his playful, goofy side. Typical to German Shepherds, Scar does have a big bark and will use it when he is board or wants something. Adopters should ensure they are providing above average mental and physical stimulation to keep Scar satisfied in his adoptive home. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
