Placed on special diet and cobalaquin (b12). Needs urgent rescue 02/04/26 10:34 high energy young dog, losing weight while at shelter despite dewormer and extra feedings. Bloodwork pending for GI disease. Known to be mouthy causing break in skin/ bruising. Needs urgent rescue. 01/29/26 Meet Pinky, a handsome male German Shepherd with boundless energy, a playful spirit, and a heart that’s more than ready for a home of his own. Pinky has been waiting at the shelter since December 2025, and while he’s done his best to stay positive, it’s clear that kennel life just isn’t where he thrives.

Pinky is very energetic and absolutely loves to play, run, and explore. He’s looking for a patient adopter with an active lifestyle—someone who’s excited to channel his enthusiasm into fun adventures, exercise, and continued training. With the right guidance, Pinky has all the potential to become an incredible partner for hikes, games, and daily movement.

He’s friendly and eager to engage, though he can be a bit nervous when playing with other dogs, especially in the busy shelter environment. Given time, patience, and positive experiences, he’ll benefit greatly from a calmer setting where he can build confidence at his own pace.

What Pinky wants most is simple: freedom to run, space to play, and a person who believes in him. If you’re ready for an energetic, loyal companion who would much rather be by your side than behind kennel doors, Pinky is waiting to start his next chapter with you. 01/29/26 What did we do on today’s adventure: It’s my turn to go out spending
time with my human friend! Today is the day and I was a little excited
hence wriggly, my friends took some time to harness me! I didn’t
understand how to jump into the vehicle so it took a few treats and tries
but I made it. When I arrived at the park, I was so excited that I put my
tongue out and licked all the dew off the fresh green grass! Then I saw a
bird darting across and squirrels too! I paused and observed the wonderful
critters I encountered along my first 5 mile hike. Although I was very
curious about my surroundings, I did not tug on the leash and my human
friend complimented me on my good behavior. There were a few doggie
friends along the way but I was a little nervous passing by them so I stuck
close to my human shield, err..friend. BUT I did get a few compliments
that I was such a beautiful dog and so polite. So I put on a happy smile and
trot along enjoying the views and scents. I also had a great splash in the
water soaking all my four limbs in it! Refreshing! At the end of my outing, I leaned in and gave many kisses to my human
friend to thank her for giving me the best day ever! I had so much fun on
my first hike and I hope to do it again, hopefully often with my furever
family...
What should potential adopters know about me: Pinky has such an
innocent view of life and he is so eager to learn how to be your best friend.
He is only 1 year old and has the enthusiasm of a puppy. Highly trainable
with patience and good treats. He walks in a zig zag pattern occasionally
but with only a light pull on the leash. He can sometimes get nervous
meeting other dogs and need patience and understanding from his handler.
He is affectionate and will seek petting when he is comfortable with his
handler.
Three words to describe me: Affectionate, playful, curious
