DESCRIPTION
Meet Lala, who comes to us from the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter. Lala is a 2–3-year-old, 65 lb., German Shepherd. Lala is an amazing dog. She is so smart, affectionate, loves to be hugged and kissed, sweet natured, gentle, and is a favorite amongst the volunteers. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and good with other dogs and kids. She had been hit by a vehicle and has a fracture in her right front leg. It was shattered. She's got a cast on and as for now she will be able to keep that leg, but we are still waiting for our vet to determine whether or not she will ultimately have to have it amputated. Right now, things are still looking good and our vet seems optimistic. But she's not out of the woods yet. Lala did test heartworm positive and has been placed on the Proheart / Doxycycline slow kill protocol. Given her medication as prescribed she should test negative within 6-12 months at the latest. She is currently in need of a foster home and is living in boarding. If you would like to meet Lala to either foster or adopt her, please reach out to us for an application.
