Nika
Meet Nika, a beautiful sable girl with soulful eyes and a heart that is wide open, even after a rough start.
- Nika is a silly girl and very affectionate. She loves being around her people and will quietly snuggle up on the couch or curl up near you in her bed.
- She loves people watching out of the windows and is learning to quietly watch people working or walking nearby.
- Nika is incredibly smart! She has already learned so much in a short time. She's practicing lots of things and has learned platz (place/down), touch/target, leave it, paw, leave it, and is working on "back." She will sit before crossing through a doorway and wait for a signal to be let out or in the house.
- She has greeted everyone who has come to our home with a tail wag and some couch snuggles and has loved meeting people out and about. She's learning to settle in busier places such as breweries or places with lots of people that she wants to say hi to (she loves everyone!), but will do great in these settings with practice!
- She's very curious about everything around her and loves to explore and sniff everything new.
-Nika does have some separation anxiety. She is not destructive, but she will bark/cry and pace when left alone, so she will do best with a family who can ease her into alone time gently and help her trust that people always come back.
-What Nika needs now is what she has never quite had: a patient person, a little structure, and the steady reassurance that she is safe. Give her that, and this sweet girl is going to bloom into the devoted companion she was always meant to be.
