Juna - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Pleasant Grove, California

"Juna" (her name is actually "Juno", but that's a misfit) is a beautiful 9-10 mos old spayed female GSD who was brought to the Hitchcock Rd animal shelter in Salinas on Aug 6 after living in an irrigation pipe in a strawberry field in Salinas for quite some time. Juna managed to survive thanks to a concerned citizen who spotted regularly brought her food and water.

Juna is friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs. She’s still a young pup, so she would benefit from training classes to help her learn good manners and build confidence as she grows. Regular exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation will also be important to keep this energetic girl happy and thriving.

Because Juna is young and eager and has been at the shelter for well over a month, she's grown restless and barks and jumps when people approach. Though totally expected, this kind of behavior scares off most potential adopters and thus makes Juna more likely to be listed for euthanasia--which is a serious possibility now.
