Meet Chase
Chase is a 7.5-year-old King Shepherd who is ready to find his furever family.
Sometimes, the hardest surrenders happen because life takes an unexpected turn. Chase wasn't given up because he wasn't loved. His senior owner made the heartbreaking decision to bring him to us after realizing he could no longer care for Chase while also caring for his wife as she battles brain cancer.
Now Chase is trying to understand why his whole world changed.
He arrived today and has spent much of his time whining. When one of our staff members took him for a walk, he spotted an open car door and immediately tried to hop inside, as if he was waiting for someone to take him back home.
Our hearts break for this sweet, loyal boy, but we know his story doesn't have to end in heartbreak. Chase deserves a second chance to spend the rest of his days surrounded by love, comfort, and a family to call his own. We hope that's exactly what his previous owners get to see happen.
Chase is house trained, great with kids, and loves people. He's a gentle, intelligent, loving companion who rides wonderfully in the car. If you ask him what his favorite thing in the world is, the answer is easy: a red ball. He absolutely loves to play fetch and chase, and nothing makes his tail wag faster than a game outside.
His previous owners shared that they aren't sure how Chase does with other animals, as he was the only pet in their home.
Chase is up to date on vaccinations, deworming, prevention, is neutered, and is ready to go home.
