8/19/26: Meet Fetch!
Fetch has been doing wonderfully in his foster home and has already made incredible progress in the short time he's been there. He is house-trained, affectionate, and very eager to learn, responding well to both verbal commands and hand signals. His foster has also been working on his leash skills, and he was showing steady improvement before his heartworm treatment required him to take it easy.
Fetch is a very affectionate boy who loves being close to his person. He will happily lean against you for attention and tends to stay right by your side. He is also a great traveler and loads into and out of the car easily.
Being on a restricted activity schedule has been a little difficult for this energetic guy-he would much rather be out walking and playing fetch! Once he is finished with treatment and cleared for normal activity, he'll likely be thrilled to get back to doing what he loves.
Fetch can be a little unsure of new environments, including stairs, unfamiliar rooms, basements, and different flooring, but he has been making progress with encouragement and patience. He is curious and enjoys checking out his surroundings.
So far, Fetch has done well around both people and other animals and has shown no aggression. His foster has been keeping him calm and limiting his interactions while he completes treatment, but his previous experiences have been positive.
Fetch is still young, energetic, and learning, but he's already showing what a wonderful companion he can be. Once he's cleared for activity, we think he'll be ready to make up for all those walks and games of fetch he's been patiently waiting for!

7/21/26: Currently in Foster Care
This dog is currently staying in a foster home and is not on-site at the rescue. They are still available for adoption!
If you're an approved adopter and would like to meet them, please contact the Char-Wills office. We'll be happy to coordinate an appointment with the foster family so you can meet them at the rescue.

7/3/26: Meet Fetch!
Yes... his name is Fetch, and yes... he absolutely lives up to it.
Originally a stray from Louisiana, Fetch is estimated to be about 2.5 years old and is now ready to trade his wandering days for a forever home filled with play, structure, and love. This handsome boy is already showing us what a fun, engaging companion he can be.
Fetch knows his basic commands and is described as both fun and attentive. He enjoys working with his people, picking things up quickly, and staying tuned in to what's happening around him. But his favorite thing in the world? A good game of fetch. If there's a ball in motion, Fetch is fully committed to the cause.
He's the kind of dog who brings energy and joy into a room, always ready to participate and always happy to be included. With continued guidance and routine, he's going to thrive in a home that appreciates both his playful side and his eagerness to bond.
Fetch is currently heartworm positive and has already started the first stage of his treatment. The good news is that he's on the right path, and our rescue will continue to cover the cost of his heartworm treatment as long as he remains under the care of our veterinarian.
Despite everything he's been through, Fetch is focused on what comes next: toys, people, and the promise of a home where every day includes a little fun.
If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with a love for play and a heart ready to heal right alongside yours, Fetch might just be your perfect match.
