Meet Stormi, a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a heart as big as her adventurous spirit! Weighing 65 pounds, this smart, affectionate girl is looking for a home where she can be your loyal companion through everyday life and exciting outdoor adventures.

Stormi is fully house trained and crate trained, happily sleeps in her crate, and even knows the command "kennel." She has settled into her foster home with great house manners and has had no accidents. While she may let out a little whine for a minute or two when first crated, she settles quickly and relaxes until her people return.

If you're looking for a walking or hiking buddy, Stormi is ready to lace up her imaginary hiking boots! She loves long walks, spending time outdoors, and occasionally playing a game of fetch. After she's had a chance to burn off some energy, she's more than happy to relax by your side for cuddles. She's also wonderfully affectionate with people of all ages and has done great with children.

Stormi has plenty of personality, too. Like many Huskies, she enjoys "talking" with her people and will happily chat with you throughout the day. She's curious, silly, and keeps her foster family smiling. When it comes to treats, she's a bit of a connoisseur, but dried pig ears are always a favorite!

Stormi is social and friendly with people and gets excited when she sees other dogs because she wants to play. She is still learning how to appropriately interact with other dogs, so her excitement can sometimes come across in ways they may not appreciate. She will need an adopter who is committed to helping her continue building positive social skills through training and guidance. A meet and greet with any resident dog is recommended to make sure everyone is a good match. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.

Because Stormi is a high energy, working breed mix, she'll thrive with an active family who enjoys getting outside. A securely fenced yard is a bonus for safe playtime, though she also enjoys exploring the world on leash and hasn't shown interest in wandering away from her foster home.

The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
