Diamond is a 4-month-old German Shepherd mix who is proof that even the toughest beginnings can lead to the sweetest stories. This beautiful tricolor girl had a rough start; she was found at just 3 weeks old with two broken bones in her rear left leg. But Diamond is a survivor, and she has worked incredibly hard to heal, learn, and discover just how wonderful life can be.

Now around 25 pounds, Diamond is a happy, affectionate puppy who loves being part of the action. Her favorite things include exploring, going for walks at her own pace, playing with squeaky toys and tug ropes, and attempting to cuddle with her canine friends.

This girl is smart and eager to learn! Diamond is crate and pen trained, willingly goes into her crate, eats her meals there, and sleeps there. She is also making great progress with house training and naturally prefers to potty outside. Like many young puppies, she still needs frequent potty breaks and supervision.

Diamond is currently continuing to strengthen her injured leg. She has made wonderful progress, but her muscles and flexibility are still catching up after several weeks of splinting. Her adorable little skip-hop when she runs is one of her signature moves, and watching her gain strength and confidence has been incredibly rewarding.

One thing you should know about Diamond: she has a BIG voice! She loves communicating with her people and can be especially vocal when she wants attention or needs something. Because her bark is loud and resonating, she would not be a good fit for a home with shared walls, such as an apartment or townhouse.

Diamond would love a family who is home often, enjoys an active puppy, and is ready to continue helping her learn and grow. A fenced yard is important so she can safely enjoy the freedom to explore and play as her strength improves.
She may have been knocked off course early in life, but Diamond doesn't let that stop her. She's playful, affectionate, determined, and full of personality.

The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
