Kiba is a 2.5-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix with the biggest heart and so much love to give.

He was adopted from the shelter as a puppy, but through no fault of his own, was returned just before his first birthday extremely undersocialized and scared 💔💔 We knew he didn’t deserve to lose his life so we rescued him! Despite that difficult start, Kiba has absolutely blossomed in foster care and continues to prove what an incredible dog he is.

Kiba is friendly with both people and other dogs, loves to play fetch, and is always up for an adventure. Once he’s gotten his energy out, he’s happiest curled up next to his people for cuddles and kisses.

He’s fully potty trained, crate trained, great in the car, walks beautifully on leash, knows his basic commands, and is incredibly treat-motivated, which makes training even better!

Like many dogs who’ve had an uncertain past, Kiba can be a little cautious in new environments. Loud noises can make him look to his people for reassurance, and he prefers to approach new people on his own terms rather than having strangers come right up to him. Give him a little time and encouragement, and you’ll quickly see his goofy, affectionate personality come to life.

Kiba loves being with his people, but he’s also perfectly content relaxing at home while you’re away. We also think he’d thrive with another playful dog in the home to help build his confidence and keep him company.

He’s the perfect mix of playful, loyal, and affectionate—and after everything he’s been through, he deserves the forever family he’s always been waiting for. 🤍
