Apollo is an incredibly sweet and gentle long haired German Shepherd with a heart full of love. He is affectionate and devoted to his foster parents and will be the same with his forever family.
Apollo was found in a residential neighborhood. His Facebook post caught the attention of one of our volunteers as he looked just like one of our missing shelter pups, and when she went to identify him, she was greeted by him with so much love that she could not leave him behind. It seemed like he was lost for a long time, but sadly he was not microchipped, so his background remains unknown.
When he came to foster home, he slept for the first week without any worry. His foster parents cannot praise him enough.
Apollo is very loyal and obedient, the kind of dog who truly bonds with his person and wants to be by your side through everything. He is a real velcro dog, and happiest when he is close to his humans.
He is also very smart and picks up on things quickly, whether by watching or being shown, making him a joy to have around.
He loves to play fetch and will sit with his tennis ball, and throw it at whoever is up for a game.
Apollo is calm and well-mannered, and he gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, even very small ones. He has no prey drive and doesn't react to other dogs barking at him, which shows his easygoing and gentle nature.
He enjoys meeting new people, going on walks, and soaking up all the belly rubs he can get. He is fully housebroken and has great house manners, making him an easy addition to a loving home.
If you are looking for a loyal, loving companion who will stick by your side through it all, Apollo might just be your perfect match.
Apollo is 4 years old, weighs 80 pounds, neutered, microchipped and up to date with all vaccines, and kept on heart worm and flea protection. He is being fostered in Texas, and can travel to any state, and even Canada to the right home.
To adopt our puppies, yards must be fully and adequately fenced. We do not accept invisible or electric fences.

Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
