While helping the residents of Hilltown, we met a group of dogs who had been abandoned in the area. After one was killed in a dog attack and another died from advanced heartworms, getting the rest of the dogs off the streets became urgent so they did not suffer similar fates. With time, we were able to find placement for Rhett and his friends, Jade and Maybelline, getting them to safety for good! Thankfully, Rhett was healthy besides hookworms and an extra 10lbs that he couple spare to lose. He is already cleared from the worms and has been on a weight loss diet to help him slim down.
Rhett is a 2.5 year old German Shepherd/Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever mix weighing 87.4lbs. He is a happy, easygoing dog. He loves the other dogs in his foster home, enjoying playtime with them and patrolling the yard for squirrels. He'd love another dog in his forever home to play with, especially one that can match the rough play style that comes with his size! Rhett can be a little shy when meeting new people, but he warms up in no time and quickly becomes ready for love. He is kennel trained and potty trained. Rhett is currently available for adoption! Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
